Significant correspondence of a policy making nature, including attorneys' general opinions, background research studies initiated by in-state and out-of-state regulators, and interpretation of Wisconsin Administrative Rules and Wisconsin statutes regulating banks, trust companies, financial institutions, and consumer credit institutions. The series may also include Office of the Commissioner of Banking approvals; policies and procedures; administrative directives concerning work rules, code of ethics, and work performance; and updates to the Office of the Commissioner of Banking Administrative Policy and Procedures Manual, Employee Handbook, and Commissioner's Manual for State Banks.

Chapter 234, Laws of 1903, created the Banking Department.
